Most ideal monk weapon for smitting?
I know little about smitting rods or staves, I am usually a healer and I have all the greens for that attribute, like Scar Eater, Brohns Staff, Brohns Rod etc. I'm also using Jaynes Staff for Protection Prayers but have nothing for smitting!
Can someone point me in the correct direction, I just want the best or the most appropiate. Last edited by Warpy; Aug 15, 2006 at 09:35 PM // 21:35.. |

It depends on the build, does it use a lot of energy? enchantments?
In general I like: Ivor's Smiting Rod (dropped by Ivor Helmhewer ) Light Dmg: 11-22 (req. 9 Smiting Prayers) Halves skill recharge of Smiting Prayers spells (Chance: 20%) Energy +5 (while enchanted) Shen's Censure (dropped by Quufu and Shen the Magistrate in Wajjun Bazaar) Energy +12 (req. 9 Smiting Prayers) Smiting Prayers +1 (20% Chance while using skills) Halves skill recharge on Smiting Prayers (chance 20%) A Totem Axe may be a good fit there as well. I've also used a collectors smiting staff with +10 armor before since some builds don't use a lot of energy. |

I would use a 10/20 or 20/20 smite staff with +5 energy and 20% enchants on it.

What about Scourgewind's Branch, is that good? Basically I want to buy the best, cash isn't going to hinder my choice, so I'm just keen on the best attributes.
Staff * Energy +10 * Light Damage: 11-22 (Requires 9 Smiting Prayers) * Halves casting time of Smiting Prayers spells (Chance: 20%) * Halves skill recharge of Smiting Prayers spells (Chance: 20%) * Smiting Prayers +1 (20% chance while using skills) * Health +30 * Two-handed Last edited by Warpy; Aug 15, 2006 at 11:26 PM // 23:26.. |

You can pick up a blue 20/20 collectors staff add a +5 enrgy head for 3-4k then add 20% enchant wrap for about 8k ish. I bought a 20/20 staff and 10/20 staff for my smite monk but gold ones are very rare. 10/10 are popular but not as useful. Last edited by The Herbalizer; Aug 16, 2006 at 12:40 AM // 00:40.. |

http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Luven_Underwood I think it is this skin: - http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Image:Smiting_Staff.jpg I think greens are great if they fit into your build. If there isnt a +5 energy 20/20 20% enchant green smite staff then the collectors one modded would be fine. Should cost you 10k ish which imo is a good deal for such a useful item. |

I've never crafted a rod or staff, is it just a case of having the weapon and then customising it?

Customizing a weapon involves paying a weaponsmith (i think) npc like 50 gold to customize your weapon but for caster stuff its pointless. Once done you deal 20% more dmg when attacking/wanding. You can craft weapons from say weapon crafter at drok which requires gold and materials. guildwiki.org should have lots of info on this. Also, crafted/collector items do not come customized, you will have to do that yourself |

The big difference between a weapon crafted at a weaponcrafter of a weapon from a collector is that you can't salvage a collector's item. You can modify a collector item (not rods, scepters, etc) but when you change your mind then you cant craft your mods back... |
